Are you an eco-friendly sex toy lover? Now there is a way to recycle your unwanted sex toys and get a gift card for your efforts. Check out www.recycleyoursextoys.com.

The basic idea is that you mail Dreamscapes your cleaned toy that you no longer want. They sort through them, disinfect them, and send you back a gift certificate to use at one of their affiliates. The toy is shredded, melted, remolded and sold as a recycled sex toy.

The Sex Toy Recycling Program, was launched in December 2008, and was certified by the Institute For Green Business in January, 2009. The nonprofit company donates all monies received from the purchased recycled materials to local and national environmental causes. If interested in participating, you can mail your toys to:

Be sure to include your name and address in order to receive the certificate. Pretty cool, huh? You can have your fun AND save the environment. Other Earth-friendly sexy suggestions the site offers includes:

This is a great initiative! I'll definitely have to keep it in mind. I might be a little hesitant to buy a sex toy made from recycled material, but I know I shouldn't be. But if the price is right and I can get over the mental image, it seems like a great idea.

I would most definitely recycle our used sex toys! I didn't even know this type of service existed. I'd have to do more research on it to feel comfortable buying a toy made from recycled materials though. I guess if it were a recycled glass or metal toy, the heating process to melt it down would remove anything harmful. After all, us ladies have a yearly exam with a sterilized tool that has been used on others, right? Definitely something to think about and now I have a much better option for our unloved toys rather than the landfill! Thank you!
