I like quickies, but I need quite a lot of foreplay to get ready for sex, at least if my own delicate bits are involved. I am more than happy to give my husband a blow-job in an instant, but I don’t enjoy being touched or penetrated until I am really wet and turned on. I’m young enough that my juices flow abundantly when I get hot, but old enough that it takes me a while to get aroused enough so that they do.

I used to think of a quickie as something that only happens spontaneously, with little or no foreplay. Other favorite locations for quickies include the stairs, the kitchen, the shower, on a plane or train, in a field, yard, ocean, pool, hot tub, and even a hospital bed!

Arrange your signals.
If you will be in a public place, do you want to have hand signals or a “magic word?” A wink might mean, “Meet me in the bathroom in five minutes,” while a brief tug of the hand could indicate, “I’m so wet that I can’t wait five minutes! NOW!”

Shop for accouterments.
You can have a great quickie with nothing but the two of you, but a few basics like an alcohol-free hand sanitizer, lube, and condoms are always good to have on hand. If you plan on playing in the shower, bath, ocean, hot tub or pool, I recommend you take along some silicone lube, which will stay slick in the water.

On the day of your quickie, devote the entire day to foreplay.
