How to Surprise Her On Your Wedding Day

Your wedding day is already a monumental one, but stepping it up a notch can make it truly memorable. Flooding your bride-to-be with lots of little, heartfelt surprises will make everything all the more special and reinforce what a class act she’s marrying. In my experience as a sexologist, guys are often willing to go over the top for their special someone – they just need a little help with what to do. So I’ve got some easy suggestions she’ll love that with a little bit of effort and coordination will secure your place as her prince.

In putting any of the following ideas into action, shamelessly recruit the help of your groomsmen, family members, hotel staff, salon professionals - anybody she’ll be interacting with that day – to assist in your chivalrous, I’m-the-luckiest-man-in-the-world gestures. Everyone will be so tickled by your efforts that they’ll be glad to help.

Start Her Morning Out on a Good Note
Sending your groomsmen over for a wake up serenade, photo of you in hand, will start her day with a huge smile and help to ease any anxiety she may be experiencing. Letting her know you’re right there with her from the moment she wakes up reassures her that you’re thinking about her and can’t wait to see her at the alter.

If time allows, send over a masseuse to work out all of her Game Day tension. As little as 20 minutes of massage can make a world of difference and have her thinking about ways she’ll be making you feel good later.

Win Over the Women in Her Life
A sweet gesture to her bridesmaids will not only make you look like a thoughtful fellow, but will make her the joyous envy of some of the closest women in her life. Plus, pampering the “team” will show how much you want this to be a wonderful day for everyone. Wherever the ladies are getting ready, arrange that each of the bridesmaids receives a rose and that your future wife gets a whole bouquet. Your praise will be made known in their “ooo’s” and “ahhh’s.” Note: major female figures in her life should not be overlooked. Make sure that her mom, sister(s) and grandma are included as well.

If your wedding isn’t until later in the day, arrange for an early morning, private, group yoga session at the hotel, followed by sparkling water, champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries.

Or if they’re due for early salon treatment, spoil them there. Marci’s now husband made sure that she and her bridesmaids started their morning at the hair salon in style, sending orange juice and champagne for mimosas ahead of their arrival. “Everyone was excited because it was unexpected and so thoughtful,” recalls Marci. “It was sweet because he wanted me to have the best time with my girlfriends and family. He always wants me to have the best moments in life.”

Give Her Something Incredibly Special
“Another surprise at my bridal shower was when he gave me the diamond pendant family heirloom, which was very special,” Marci shares. “He’s always been so thoughtful and has always tried to make it a special moment or day. He loves me, but wants me to be happy and make surprises, throughout my life, which continues to this day.” While you may not have a family heirloom available, think about something significant and unique that you can give her that has meaning to you or both of you.

Make a Statement that this is Forever
Special delivery: No matter where she’s at, a framed wedding invitation with a note that reads “Our day – Together forever – I love you” will have her overwhelmed with happiness. If your bride is taking your name, have a bathrobe, towel, t-shirt, practically anything, embroidered with Mrs. Your Last Name. This, and all of your romantic gestures, makes it clear that getting married to her means so much to you.
