I remember the time I bought my first vibrator. I'd been thinking about getting a sex toy for awhile then, and I'd heard a lot about them - especially from reviews on the internet. It had to be something discreet because I didn't want it heard outside my room, and I didn't want it to be something too complicated either since it was my first one.

At the time, I was living with my parents, so all of this became even more difficult to accomplish. I had to find a way to purchase my vibrator and sneak into the house without it being noticed.

Taking my purse out with me to go shopping, I went to the local mall and the local "adult gags" store. Slowly heading back to the back section were the sex toys were kept, I looked at quite a few of them before deciding on one that I wanted to own. I took it to the counter, paid for it, and to this day,I still own that sex toy - it appears I picked out a good one.

I have to say that my boyfriend and I, now that I've gotten older and started doing sex toy reviews as a hobby, can waltz into the store, go into the back section, and usually walk with pride without buying anything because most of it is usually overpriced or just not a good purchase. It really amazes me how much things have changed since then.

I've become much more open since becoming a sex toy reviewer, and sometimes,the boyfriend has to reign me in. I have to remember that, just because I talk about sex openly on a regular basis, it doesn't mean that other people do. It's something I still have to try and remember at work.

Ever since taking those steps to purchase my first sex toy, my life has changed in quite a few different ways. I've become more open, more sexually accepting,and I enjoy talking about sex more with my partner. If you haven't taken that first step yet, I highly advise that you do.

As 2009 was coming to an end, we were reflecting back at our two-plus years as sex toy reviewers and reminiscing about how we became involved and how much it has meant to us. We signed up with the Buzz Team in May of 2007. Forty-nine years of life experience and 22 years of marriage had made us confident in our sexual knowledge of ourselves and each other. Then our first product for review, the Playgirl: Bodies in Heat DVD, arrived and we quickly became aware of how little we really knew. It was the first adult video we had ever watched and while watching and discussing the video afterwards, our knowledge of our own and each other's sexuality increased ten-fold.

We have been extremely blessed to be part of the Buzz Team program. In 22 years of marriage we had used 3, maybe 4, sex toys, but since becoming involved with the Buzz Team, we have used and reviewed about 130 items including prototypes, pre-releases, and re-engineered products. The sex toys (we prefer to call them "sex tools"), aids, accessories, and videos we have been privileged to try have given us opportunity and motivation to really discover our own and each other's sexuality and to stretch our sexual experience way beyond our now ever expanding comfort zone.

Prior to our Buzz Team involvement, we had emjoyed sex together but never really "experimented" and our use of sex toys was fairly conventional. Something as innocuous as a G-Spot Vibrator or even that Playgirl DVD was way, way beyond our realm of experience back in 2007. Every video we have since watched, whether for entertainment or education, has given us new insight into "us" as sexual beings. Yes, infrequently we were uncomfortable, offended, turned-off, even disgusted by things we watched or tried. Yet we consider even those to have been valuable learning tools.
