How to be a more valuable sex toy blogger

blogger, bloggers, dynamic, hierarchy, most valuable - By Better Sex on Friday, September 24, 2010 - 14:26

Better Sex loves bloggers. We work with some of the best in our industry to review our products and get feedback before we bring others to market. We also hear from a lot of new bloggers that want to get to that A-Level quickly. I try to respond to those email with as much helpful information as possible, but finally decided to share it with everyone all at once.

How do I know who is an A-List Blogger

One easy way to check is to Google them. For example, one of my favorite bloggers is Pretty Power Tools. She's not just one of my favorite bloggers, she also has taken the time to build a relationship with us and that helps more than most new blogger realize.

If I type Pretty Power Tools into Google, guess what comes up as the #1 result? Right, her blog. That tells me that she has created an authority site. An authority site is a site we want to be associated with.

The next step is that she has her own domain. She's not at prettypowertools.wordpress.com or prettypowertools.blogger.com.

The problem with using Blogger is that you will most likely be put behind the Adult Content wall. That means people will have to say "ok" to view your site, and that's something the search engines don't do. What that means is, you'll linger in the minor leagues a long time because you won't be as noticed.

I also see how many links are pointing at your site. Pretty Power Tools has about 6,000 in-bound links.

A kick ass blog

One of my favorite quotes from comes I originally heard in Ken Burn's PBS special on Baseball. It was late in the season and the Yankees were way ahead of the other teams in the American League, but Joe DiMaggio was still out there every day. Why was he pushing himself so hard? Jimmy Cannon quotes Joe as saying, "I always think, there might be someone out there in the stands who's never seen me play."

A great blogger has to think the same way, because you never know when someone will stumble across your blog. The day you cut corners and put up a piece that's not your usual awesomeness is no doubt the day someone important will see it.

Putting you own spin on it

I love that Pretty Power Tools takes the time to take her own photos of stuff and usually has a video as well. Using the stock photos or copy and pasting the product description aren't helping you stand out.

We want more great bloggers. When I say "we" I mean all of us right? You also want to read better blogs. That's why we're starting something new...

Better Sex Blogger Awards

This isn't a one-time thing like the Emmy awards, it will be an ongoing effort to find and properly recognize the best sex-positive blogs across the web.

We need your help! Let us know when you find a good one and we'll check it out. They don't need to be associated with us in any way, just let us know which ones you like best.

I used to be the type of blogger that used to put every little informative idea on the web. Unaware of the negative agendas that people have i found myself "blog hogging" whenever I could. But these days we should be more careful. I heard on the radio the other day that people were being robbed just from posting they were going to be out of town for the weekend. The robbers would read it calculate thier attack then take them for all they got. But I guess to become a good blogger one must pore out all thier feelings and emotions from a real point of view. Readers want excitment, fresh new ideas and little to no moral standards are required. I think I can do that...
