Many couples enjoy anal play. Whether it’s using a butt plug, using a prostate stimulator on him or engaging in anal sex, this is something that can add a lot of spice, variety and sheer naughtiness to your sex life. Here’s some info and tips to help you decide if beginning anal play right for you and if it is, to help add it to your sexuality.
- It’s dangerous. It can be, if you go too fast and hard. The rectum is meant to stretch, but mainly for things coming out of it. Putting something in is like making it work backwards. So you need to go soft and slow. Use lube and begin with one finger slowly moving up to two or a small toy to see if you like it.
- Toys can get lost in there! Yes. They can. Not all of those emergency room horror stories about people coming in with things stuck in their behinds are urban legends. The trick to being safe is to make sure you can retrieve the toy. There are many toys made specifically for anal play so that it’s safe. They will have features like a wide base, are very curved or have a thick, bulbous head possibly with a handle so that it is impossible for the entire toy to be inserted. If it is something that can fully be inserted in your anus, I highly recommend to not use it.
- Being a man and liking this makes me gay! Not at all. It’s being sexually attracted to men and not women that makes you a homosexual. Liking anal play simply means that you are open minded enough to enjoy different types of sexual activity. There are many nerve endings in the anus, as well as the prostate or p-spot that can cause a lot of pleasure for men. So long as you are sexually attracted to women alone, you are straight.
- It is dirty! It can be at times. There are ways to help your anal play be cleaner. You can wait until you’ve had a bowel movement, or if you are an advanced anal player, use a cleansing kit to clean the rectum of fecal matter. If you’re having anal sex using a condom will help your penis and/or sex toy stay clean. Also, making sure keep your toys clean with an antibacterial toy cleaner will take care of the problem too. While there won’t constantly be fecal matter, it will happen sometimes. It’s normal and expect if you want to begin anal play.
